Today in class we did an activity with the "Encanto" movie. We watched clips and then students did a physical / personality profile description of each character and then answered comprehension questions about the plot. Today in class we reviewed for today's quiz by working on comparisons with these sheets. Next, students took the Ch. 1B vocab quiz over descriptive adjectives. Today in class we started with 2 rounds of Blooket to review our new adjective vocab. Next, we verbally practiced adjectives with this powerpoint and then we went over the difficult parts on yesterday's Quia activities. Next, students completed these 2 sheets in class and then used their laptops to finish up both Quia activities from yesterday. Students that still needed to take Non-Negotiable Quiz took Day 5 today! We started by watching this review video on how to make nouns and adjectives agree according to their number & gender. We also reviewed the concepts on Non-Negotiable Quiz and took the Day 4 assessment. Students then completed working on their Diamond Poems and turned them in to me. Today in class we reviewed number/gender agreement of nouns and adjectives. We watched this grammar review video on the topic. Next we practiced number/gender agreement of nouns and adjectives with this sheet and this sheet and then we went over the answers. Then, whoever needed to take Non-Negotiable Quiz took it. Today we stared class by playing "PONGA" which is Spanish Bingo to practice the numbers a little more. Next, we took our first quiz on Greetings/Goodbyes, Numbers, and Colors. After the quiz, students picked up their first vocab sheet and started working on this vocab crossword puzzle to start familiarizing themselves with the words. Once all quizzes were in, we started talking about the calendar in Spanish (Days, Months, Seasons). Here's the powerpoint we went over today. We only covered Days of the Week and Seasons today. Warm Up: What is 1 class rule or procedure we discussed yesterday? Today in class we reviewed the Spanish alphabet. We talked in depth about the pronunciation of letters especially focusing on C & G which change sounds depending on the vowel that follows. Then we took notes on greetings & goodbyes, colors, and how to ask and respond to the question "¿Cómo te llamas?" (What is your name?). Here is the powerpoint with the information we covered today. At the end of the block students did the country coloring activity that was on the back of the "Information Sheet" that was given out yesterday.
