How to make comparisons of inequality and equality in Spanish Warm Up Translate: 1) Fred is older than his brother 2) Veronica and Diego are not as patient as their mom. 3) You are stronger than your sister. Today in class we did an activity with the "Encanto" movie. We watched clips and then students did a physical / personality profile description of each character and then answered comprehension questions about the plot. Thursday, February 15th Learning Targets 1. How to describe myself and others using "Ser" and adjectives. 2. How to make comparisons of inequality and equality in Spanish Warm Up: Translate: 1) I am not as strong as my dad 2) McDonalds is worse than Wendy's. 3) They are younger than us. Today in class we reviewed for today's quiz by working on comparisons with these sheets. Next, students took the Ch. 1B vocab quiz over descriptive adjectives. After the quiz, students started watching "Encanto" and filled out this sheet as we started. Wednesday, February 14th Learning Targets 1. How to make comparisons of inequality and equality in Spanish Warm Up: Translate: 1) I am smarter than my brother. 2) Nike is better than Adidas. 3) We are more talented than them. Today in class we reviewed our vocab to prep for tomorrow's vocab quiz. We played the "Palomitas" (Popcorn) review game at the start of class. Next, we continued practicing making comparisons in Spanish. We went over the answers to yesterday's worksheet At the end of the block we played 2 Quizizz games to prepare us for Friday's quiz: 1. I will learn how to describe myself and others using adjectives and the verb "Ser" (to be). 2. I can correctly use subject pronouns and the conjugations of ser to talk about myself and others. Warm Up: Translate: 1) Y’all are young, strong, and athletic. 2) Zeina is red-headed, popular, and talkative Today in class we started by going over yesterday's practice sheet. Next, we learned about how to form comparisons in Spanish. We first watched this video: youtu.be/raPkqMIFYUA Then we took notes on how to form comparisons. Here is the powerpoint with the comparisons notes. After taking notes students completed this practice sheet and this sheet on comparisons and those that needed took Day 7 of the Non-Negotiable Quiz. Lastly, students completed this Comparisons Quia activity: www.quia.com/quiz/7986428.html You will have a vocab quiz on THRUSDAY this week! It will cover the pink vocab sheet words + Comparisons! Monday, February 12th Learning Targets: 1. I will learn how to describe myself and others using adjectives and the verb "Ser" (to be). 2. I can correctly use subject pronouns and the conjugations of ser to talk about myself and others. Warm Up: Translate: 1) The teachers are mean, strict, and organized. 2) Carlos is lazy, slow, and fat. Today in class we quickly reviewed adjective agreement of nouns and adjectives, and we went over the answers to the 2 sheets that students worked on last Friday.
