Learning Targets: I will learn... 1. The Spanish alphabet (the letters & their pronunciation) 2. How to greet and say goodbye to people in Spanish 3. How to ask and respond to the question:
Warm Up: What is 1 class rule or procedure we discussed yesterday? Today in class we reviewed the Spanish alphabet. We talked in depth about the pronunciation of letters especially focusing on C & G which change sounds depending on the vowel that follows. Then we took notes on greetings & goodbyes, colors, and how to ask and respond to the question "¿Cómo te llamas?" (What is your name?). Here is the powerpoint with the information we covered today. At the end of the block students did the country coloring activity that was on the back of the "Information Sheet" that was given out yesterday. Thursday, January 4th Learning Targets: I will learn... 1. Why studying a 2nd language is important 2. The class expectations and procedures 3. The Spanish alphabet (the letters & their pronunciation) Welcome to Spanish 1! Warm Up: Why study Spanish or another foreign language? Today students were assigned their seats and we went over this intro powerpoint that covered class rules/procedures as well as explained the World Language pathway and courses offered at Hillgrove. Students received this Warm Up Sheet and answered the question: Why study Spanish? After going over class procedures, students filled out this Info Sheet while I checked transcripts. The last part of the block we began learning the letters and sounds of the alphabet and students filled out this sheet. Comments are closed.
