Today in class we took the Reflexives writing summative, which took 45 minutes. Today in class we took the Ch. 1-4 quiz over "Los Baker van a Peru" Then we read Ch. 5 of "Los Baker van a Peru" - we previewed the vocab before reading and answered the question packet after. Next we went over yesterday's Reflexives quiz, and went over these common mistakes with Reflexives. We did one final practice writing to prepare for tomorrow's writing summative. Wednesday, April 24th Learning Targets 1. I can identify and conjugate reflexive verbs in the present tense in both simple and complex sentences. 2. I can speak and write about my daily routine in Spanish. Today in class we continued working through the more difficult points of Reflexives. We finished the rest of the Relfexives packet and went over the answers. We also went over the back of the "Firma Por Favor" sheet. The rest of the block students used to take their Reflexives quiz. I can speak and write about my daily routine in Spanish. Today in class we defined the vocab for Ch. 4 of "Los Baker van a Peru" and then read Ch. 4 and answered the questions in the packet. We then continued practicing with Reflexive verbs in both 1-verb and 2-verb sentences. We did another process-writing activity together, and then students completed pages 3-4 in the Reflexives packet and then we did this speaking activity. Friday, April 19th

Today in class we started by reviewing Reflexives and went over the answers to #s 1-15 in the packet students received yesterday. We did a writing activity where we wrote out the daily routine of a character in a comic strip. Students then completed first 2 questions in each section on page 2 of yesterday's Reflexive packet. Next, we listened to the Sr. Wooly song, "No voy a levantarme" a couple times and we did the 4 worksheet activities (pgs 5-8) in the packet students got yesterday (fill in blanks, crossword etc). Today in class we began with mini novel "Los Baker Van a Peru." Students received this vocab list and we defined the unknown vocab for the first 2 chapters. Next, we read the first 2 chapters of the book. See the Resources section of CTLS if you missed a day of reading. We also answered the question packet for Chapters 1-2. Lastly we reviewed reflexives and students completed #s 1-15 on the first page of this packet. Wednesday, April 17th Learning Targets 1. Today in class we quickly reviewed how to conjugate reflexive verbs and then students continued to work on the assignments we started yesterday. Additionally, students practiced body parts vocab with this "Mi Monstruo" activity. Students turned in their work at the end of the block. Tuesday, April 16th Learning Targets 1. We then quickly reviewed DOPs and students took their DOPs quiz. Students then worked to assemble their Fashion Show portfolios. Today in class we went over the half-sheet activity from yesterday on stem-changing verbs and also pages 2-3 in the packet. The rest of the block we watched the Flipgrid video presentations. Thursday, February 15th Learning Targets: I will learn... 1. A list of common stem-changing verbs and how to conjugate them. 2. Vocabulary related to free time and after school activities. Today in class students had a sub. Yesterday we learned about stem-changers, so today you will practice and you will need to use your guided notes sheet from yesterday! About cultural topics and celebrations throughout the Spanish-speaking world. Today class students presented on their Carnival parade floats. We then voted by having students pick their top 3 pick. The class winner will go out to the World Language Department's competition to see who will win the best float in tomorrow's school-wide contest. After the presentations and voting we took notes on Stem-Changing Verbs. Here is the powerpoint with the information we went over today. Students filled out these guided notes and defined the list of common stem-changers on the back. Monday & Tuesday, February 12-13th Learning Targets: I will learn... 1. How to use Infinitive Verb Phrases (Gustar + Inf. / Tener que + Inf. / Ir + a + Inf.) 2. How to express possession using possessive adjectives and "de" constructions 3. Vocab related to family members and the places and activities we do together 4. How to conjugate regular -AR, -ER, and -IR Verbs Both days class students worked in groups of 2-3 to research a cultural theme or topic in the Spanish-speaking world. This week we will celebrate "Carnival" as a World Language department. Students will build a shoebox float to depict their cultural theme or topic and we will have a parade on Thursday this week where the whole school can come out and vote on the best float! Students needed to bring in a shoebox and art supplies to work on their floats. Friday, February 9th

Here are the instructions with the rubric. I also mentioned that our first summative will be on FRIDAY this week! You will have to write on the topic of describing yourself as well as your friends and family. You will also mention your classes and what you do/have to do/like to do/ and going to do at school and in your free time. Tuesday, February 6th Learning Targets: I will learn... 1. Here is the powerpoint with the information we covered today. Students then practiced with the 3 infinitive phrases + the regular conjugations we have been working through with this sheet. After completing the translation sheet students had the rest of class time to finish their "Mi Familia Famosa" activity that we started yesterday.
