Learning Targets: 1. How do I write a formal email in Spanish? 2. What are Spanish writing conventions? Today in class students wrote a 2nd email based on environmental topics. After the email students had the rest of the block to finish assembling their Interview Project presentations. Over the weekend, students should work on their powerpoint for their Interview Project Presentation. Here's a video to help you get your 30-second audio snippet saved and inserted into Powerpoint using Audacity: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzn7WvUV32s For those that will insert a video file, you will have to use Video Editor to cut out a 30-second clip. You will insert it into Powerpoint using the same method (just choose video file instead of audio file). Here is a model presentation from a former student. Thursday, November 3rd Learning Targets: 1. How do I write a formal email in Spanish? 2. What are Spanish writing conventions? Today in class we discussed how to tackle the Email portion of the AP exam. Here's the handout I gave students to help them formulate logical responses. Next, we completed this practice email from a previous AP exam. With the rest of the block students started making calacas. Wednesday, November 2nd Learning Targets: 1. What aspects of the Spanish-speaking world are similar/different from our communities here in the U.S. Today in class students had the whole block to prepare the powerpoint presentation portion for their Interview Project. Tuesday, November 1st Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. What are the causes & effects of global warning and various types of pollution on the environment? 2. What steps can we take as individuals and as a society to combat these environmental issues? 3. I will learn how to use the future tense and adverb clauses of the subjunctive Today in class we read the article "La música que sale de la basura." and watched the YouTube videos that are attached in the document. Students also finished the Quia on Adverb Clauses of the Subjunctive #2 - the link is in yesterday's post. Monday, October 31st Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. What are the causes & effects of global warning and various types of pollution on the environment? 2. What steps can we take as individuals and as a society to combat these environmental issues? 3. I will learn how to use the future tense and adverb clauses of the subjunctive Today in class we started with a listening. Here are the comprehension questions and the corresponding article, and here is the audio file. Next, we went to the computer lab and students watched one video on an environmental topic (all the videos are attached in CTLS), and filled out this News Article sheet on the video they were assigned. After doing the video, students completed this Quia: Adverb Clauses of the Subjunctive: www.quia.com/quiz/7871964.html With any left over time students started working on their powerpoint presentations.
