Learning Targets: 1. I will learn vocabulary related to my school and classes 2. I will learn how to conjugate regular -AR Verbs to the Present Tense. Warm Up: Fill in the blank 1) Nosotros __________ (dibujar) en la clase de arte. 2) Ellos _________ (cantar) en la clase de coro. 3) Enrique ___________ (usar) la computadora. Today in class we started by reviewing how to conjugate -AR Verbs. Then, students had the rest of the block to work on their Magic Books. Here is the instruction sheet for the Magic Books. In case you were absent or need to make a Magic Book here is a tutorial video: youtu.be/mXnx-J5gIJc Once students finished their Magic Books they worked to complete the Ch. 2A crossword puzzle. Thursday, March 14th Learning Targets: 1. I will learn vocabulary related to my school and classes 2. I will learn how to conjugate regular -AR Verbs to the Present Tense. Warm Up Translate: Look at your new vocab list - ¿Cuáles son las 4 clases que tienes este semestre? (What are 4 classes you have this semester?) Today in class we defined our new vocabulary for Ch. 2A which covers school and class vocab. Here is the completed vocab sheet students received: chapter_2a_vocabulary_completed.docx. Next, we took these guided notes on how to conjugate regular -AR Verbs. Here is a powerpoint that shows how to conjugate -AR Verbs in case you were absent, and here's a video that explains how to conjugate them: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMaipScPLgY Next, we built our "Magic Books" that we will work on in class today and tomorrow. Students cut out and labeled the different parts of their books and them left them here with me at the end of the block. We will work on the books tomorrow. Lastly, students completed the Ch. 2A Vocab crossword puzzle and wkbk pgs 65-66 which were on the back of the crossword puzzle. Wednesday, March 13th Learning Targets: 1. I will learn what infinitive verbs are 2. I will learn vocabulary related to free-time activities and how to express my likes and dislikes using the verb "gustar." Warm Up - Translate: 1) We don’t like to sing. 2) Juan and Ramon like to work. 3) You don’t like talking on the phone at all. Today in class we took the quiz over "Gustar" and infinitive verb vocab. After the quiz students picked up the new vocab sheet and we defined our new vocabulary for Ch. 2A which covers school and class vocab. Here is the completed vocab sheet in case you were absent: chapter_2a_vocabulary_completed.docx. Lastly, students completed the Ch. 2A Vocab crossword puzzle. Tuesday, March 12th Learning Targets: 1. I will learn what infinitive verbs are 2. I will learn vocabulary related to free-time activities and how to express my likes and dislikes using the verb "gustar." Warm Up - Translate: 1) I don’t like neither singing nor dancing. 2) Juan likes the enchiladas from (de) La Parrilla. 3) We don't like to work at all. Today in class we started with 3 listening activities. Here is the activity sheet and here are the audios: Actividad 5 Actividad 8 Actividad 9 The middle part of the block we worked on these 2 workbook pages that we didn't get to yesterday to practice negatives with "gustar." Finally we played the "Palomitas" popcorn vocab game and at the end played a Jeopardy review game to prepare for tomorrow's quiz. Make sure you know your vocab from the bright yellow sheet and how to conjugate gustar for tomorrow's quiz! Monday, March 11th Learning Targets: 1. I will learn what infinitive verbs are 2. Warm Up - Translate: 1) I like to sleep a lot. 2) We like videogames 3) Jon and Tim like to play basketball. Today in class I checked in with the students after being gone for 2 days. We reviewed how to use the Personal "A" with "gustar" and how to use "gustar" with verbs, and both plural and singular nouns. Next, we worked on this practice sheet together. Next we reviewed the conjugations of "Gustar" and then continued with learning how to use negatives with "gustar" to express things we don't like. Here is the powerpoint we went over today. Students then worked on these 2 workbook pages to practice negatives.
