Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. What are the causes & effects of global warning and various types of pollution on the environment? 2. What steps can we take as individuals and as a society to combat these environmental issues? 3. I will learn how to use the future tense Today in class students had a sub and completed a reading and a podcast entitled "La obsesión por el plástico". Here is the audio file you'll need to complete the activities. Students also had a Future Tense grammar sheet to complete. Please turn the 1st page of your Interview Project Essay in to the sub if you want a courtesy grade. If I don't have it by the end of the school day your "courtesy grade" opportunity is gone. Thursday, October 20th Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. I will learn how to use subjunctive clauses of emotion and doubt & denial. Today in class we reviewed yesterday's subjunctive quiz. Next, students took notes on how to form and use the Future Tense in Spanish. Here is the powerpoint with the notes. The last part of the block students completed this Quia activity which was a mix of the Future Tense conjugations and the Set 2 Medio Ambiente Vocab: www.quia.com/quiz/8110782.html. Wednesday, October 19th Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. What are the causes & effects of global warning and various types of pollution on the environment? 2. What steps can we take as individuals and as a society to combat these environmental issues? 3. I will learn how to use subjunctive clauses of emotion and doubt & denial. Today in class we started by watching a Spanish BrainPop video on "Animales en peligro de extincion" and answered the questions. Next, students took a grammar quiz over the subjunctive with noun clauses (WEIRDO clauses). After the quiz students worked on this medio ambiente vocab sheet for the rest of the block. Tuesday, October 18th Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. What are the causes & effects of global warning and various types of pollution on the environment? 2. What steps can we take as individuals and as a society to combat these environmental issues? Today in class we started with a BrainPop video over "Los humanos y el ambiente" to review our new vocab. Next, I gave students a model copy of a previous student's interview project essay which we read through together and analyzed it so students knew the kinds of things they should include in their own essays. The rest of the block students had time to write their essays. Monday, October 17th Learning Targets: I will learn how to read, write, listen, and speak in Spanish on the following topics: 1. What are the causes & effects of global warning and various types of pollution on the environment? 2. What steps can we take as individuals and as a society to combat these environmental issues? 3. I will learn how to use subjunctive clauses of emotion and doubt & denial. Today in class we watched this cortometraje on human impact on the environment and small changes in our habits that add up to positive environmental impact: youtu.be/o-ttoYYQZZs. Next, we prepared for tomorrow's subjunctive quiz, which will cover all the WEIRDO noun clauses. Students worked on these 2 sheets.
